Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP)
What is CHIP?
The Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) provides free or low-cost health coverage to millions of Americans, including some low-income people, families and children, pregnant women, the elderly, and people with disabilities.
The ASPIN CHIP Enrollment Program utilizes experienced navigators dually trained as community health workers (CHWs) to:
- Increase the number of low-income children and families enrolled in health insurance,
- Provide information and services in a fair, accurate and impartial manner to help children and their families that are enrolled retain coverage
ASPIN CHIP Enrollment Program navigators utilize mobile technology, a statewide toll-free call center, and website to make enrollment more convenient.
